How to Ungroup (UnJoin) a Mesh - Blender Stack Exchange
Closed 8 years ago. I Need to know how to Ungroup Meshes that were Previously joined Without Undoing History. I Am attempting to ungroup things like these. If you select anything on the models in there you will notice they are a big mesh made with the CTRL J Trick I Need to know how to Ungroup it from that.

Highlight the objects, go into edit mode, select a vertex/edge/face on one of the objects and press L to select linked data, press P and click "by selection"

Blender doesn't have groups or any other feature which works in the same way as groups commonly do in other pieces of software. What you've described is joining objects, which is just joining the mesh, materials, and some other properties into a single object.

When you join two objects, then whichever is active will retain its origin, and the other mesh will be joined to that mesh. I still don't get exactly what your issue is.

I now want to "ungroup" one of the instances, de-linking all of that instance's objects from the parent group, leaving them at their current location, and creating a bunch of objects that can be edited individually.

degrouping stl file objects on blender
Closed 9 years ago. I have imported an stl file to blender and its separate objects I can`t figure out how to deselect the objects.
