On occasion the question of Jewish hats comes up, and since an off-topic post I made in a different thread generated a little interest, I'll share more here. Ignore it if you want; ask me any questions you want. :) Realistically, when we're talking about black hats worn by Jews, we're talking...
New hats made by the same company or the same custom hat maker often fit differently even when made on the same block. Sometimes the differences can be significant.
When it comes to pairing hats with suits, it's important to consider the overall style and aesthetic of the outfit. The dark gray hairy fedora may be a better match for your navy suit. The color of the hat can complement the navy color of the suit, while the texture of the hat can add visual interest to the outfit.
When was the date they used X’s as 10% fur? because I have a 4x beaver hat from the mid 90’s that feels pretty dense and thick so I suspect this might be 40% beaver, therefore I hypothesize that the 90’s was the date that the X’s were used as 10% fur for each X but I might be deceived because if...
The Royal Stetson is presented in two weights: the 'Fallweight.' and the 'Vita-Felt,' the latter being a lighter weight for men accustomedto the finest of foreign hats." I have a Stetson Concourse with the same logo on the liner. The Concourse was first advertised in the New York Times on Nov. 5, 1953 and last advertised on Oct. 31, 1955.

Traditional "panama" hats" are considered straw hats, though toquilla is not a true palm biologically speaking. Palm and palm-like fronds are torn lengthwise into thin strips, then woven together. How thin the strips are determines how flexible, tight and durable the finished hat is. In hats, the generic term straw can mean many things.
Apologies to anyone who has posted this tip before but I've just discovered it and it really works. To get rid of a smoky or musty smell in a hat, get a couple of those fabric softener sheets that go in tumble driers and put them in the hat. Tie it up in a plastic bag and leave it for a couple...
I have talked about the TV series " Homestead Rescue " some time ago. Obviously the hats are an important thing is these reality TV show . The 3 characters Marty, the father, Matt , son, and Misty, daughter (there is a theme there), have all headgear . Matt wears a cap ( iconoclast!) and the other two hats.
